Advanced Vision buys Geiger Vision Systems
Advanced Vision Technology (AVT), based in Hod-Hasharon, Israel, has acquired Geiger Vision Systems of Munich, Germany. Though both companies manufacture automatic inspection systems for the printing industry, AVT has focused on a broader market, whereas Geiger concentrates on the label business.
AVT will establish a subsidiary in Germany into which all Geiger activities will be incorporated. The unit will focus on research and development, and will be headed by Axel Geiger, founder and managing director of Geiger.
The acquisition, aimed at strengthening AVT’s presence in the narrow web market, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2002.
